Most of the people around never heard of biodiesel fuel. I make my own Biodiesel for my home. I don’t buy any heating oil anymore. I save a ton of money every year with a little effort in my spare time. I don’t have a diesel truck, but when I have enough to sell, my friends buy it from me for there diesel pickups. They love the smell from the tail pipe. It smells like French fries! It’s the fuel that is made from vegetable oil. The vegetable oil is run through a bio diesel processor and within a short time, you have a batch of bio diesel fuel that you can use in your home or vehicle.
Bio diesel is the new energy star; the name is a general one for a variety of ester-based oxygenated fuels made from soybean oil or other vegetable oils or animal fats. It is produced by mixing oils with alcohol or petroleum diesel fuel. The new trend is to make Bio diesel at home, but this is not something new. I would recommend to everyone, you should really need to know what you are doing when you try and make your own fuel.

They also include safety, quality, and handling guides. That’s 4 books in total for only 49 bucks! I wish I found this book first, would of saved a lot of my time and effort.

What Is Biodiesel?
To start with, let's take a look at what biodiesel fuel actually is. At its most simple, biodiesel fuel is made from either vegetable oil, animal fat, or mixture of the two. It's a clean burning fuel that is made from renewable resources hence the name biodiesel.
Generally, biodiesel fuel is made from straight vegetable oil, sometimes referred to as SVO. So if you want to make your own biodiesel fuel, you'll need to have an adequate supply of the basic ingredients. They get together with restaurants, bakeries, and any other business that uses a deep fryer, so that they can collect the used oil for recycling. The oils are then blended and used as the basis for biodiesel fuel. The processes are the same as you'd use to make biodiesel fuel at home, but by having access to a much larger supply of raw products, these companies can produce biodiesel in quantities that are more viable.
Can I make it at Home?
YES! One thing to remember is that it's not quite this simple. Used vegetable oil needs to be mixed and stored, which can be quite a problem if you have large amounts of it. You need a place to process your Biodiesel such as a shed, garage, or basement. Because the material you will be handling has such a high flashpoint, this makes the production of biodiesel fuel at home safe and easy.
Though this may seem like a difficult task, it is easier than one would think. The production process usually involves the combining of vegetable oil or animal fats with methanol alcohol. The chemical reaction that takes place creates esters that compose the "bio" portion of the fuel. When you compare it to the cost of buying the necessary amount of fuel to run your car or heat your home for a year, you can still save an enormous amount - somewhere around 75 percent. Even better, you're saving the environment too.
Can I mix it with Petroleum?
The short answer is yes! It can be blended with petroleum in any percentages and used as fuel. There is a fuel called B20 which is 20 percent biodiesel that has shown significant environmental benefits. It can be used in an existing diesel engine with no modifications. The only thing to be aware of is that biodiesel acts as a solvent and can remove old deposits on your fuel tank walls and your fuel lines. This may lead to a clogging of your filters so care should be taken. But hey - then you have a clean system!!
